About Cadiz

Founded over 25 years ago, Cadiz Inc. is a renewable resource development company based in Los Angeles.  We began in 1983 with a small landholding in the Cadiz valley of eastern San Bernardino County, California – a region with abundant groundwater supplies.  Through continued expansion, we now own approximately 45,000 acres (70 square miles) in San Bernardino County. Virtually all of this land is underlain by high-quality natural groundwater resources. Two of our properties are located in proximity to the Colorado River Aqueduct, the major source of imported water for southern California.  The third property is located near the Colorado River.

We are committed to pursuing the highest and best use of our properties. Our current activities include:

  • Advancement of the Cadiz Water Conservation and Storage Project, an underground water conservation and supply program designed to provide as much as 150,000 acre-feet of water to Southern California in dry years.
  • Ongoing organic agricultural operations, with 1,600 acres in production, including citrus orchards and table grape vineyards.
  • Exploration of potential solar energy development opportunities at our properties.

"A nation that fails to plan intelligently for the development and protection of its precious waters will be condemned to wither because of its shortsightedness. The hard lessons of history are clear, written on the deserted sands and ruins of once proud civilizations."- Lyndon B. Johnson (1908-1973) 36th President of the United States
